November 9, 2020 Updated Response COVID-19

With the new BC COVID-19 restrictions announced on November 7, 2020 as well as with the new recommendations put forward by the Pacific Mountain Regional Council, LUC will be going back to Step 1 (from Step 2), effective immediately, for the duration of the Provincial Health Officer Order.

Step 1
There are no in-person gatherings of any kind. The church building is closed to the public, with limited access when necessary. All staff work from home and all meetings, gatherings, and worship services are held online.

Fundraising Pick-Up and Drop-Off Changes
It’s been wonderful to see so many LUC fundraising traditions continue this year although they may look a little different! We thank all the organizers, participants, sponsors and supporters who have helped to make Pat’s Banana Bread/Pie Sale, the Craft Group Virtual Craft Sale, the Purdy’s Chocolates Fundraiser, and Joanne’s Flower Arrangements a continued success despite the new restrictions we all had to work around. It is such a testament to the resilience and hearts of the LUC community and we are so grateful for all of your hard work and support!

As we continue with these events, we are initiating safety protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of each and every one of you.

FUNDRAISING DROP OFF & PICK UP PROTOCOLS

When picking up or dropping off items outside the church, the exchange will occur outside under the covered Front Entrance.

And we ask you to please:

  • Wear a mask
  • Hand sanitize before and after the exchange
  • Maintain 2 meters of physical distancing
  • E-transfer is the preferred method of payment for all purchases. However, if you need to pay by cash or cheque please place them in a sealed envelope with your contact information. PLEASE NOTE: all cash payments must be in exact change as no change will be available.
  • To limit traffic outside the church, we ask that you arrive on time at your pre-arranged time slot and leave promptly when finished.

Because COVID-19 safety protocols are subject to change at any time, we ask that all future LUC fundraising initiatives be submitted through the church office for guidance and approval via the LUC COVID-19 Task Force.
